- Friends of the Library
- The Friends of the Library are volunteers who support the library. We raise money for children's programs, books and other library needs at our book sales. Anyone can be a member of the Friends of the Library! Click here to find out how to join!
- Book Sales
- The Friends of the Library sell gently used books at Honor Book Sales in the lobbies at all library branches and at monthly book sales. You'll also find great bargains at the Friends online book sale.
- Your Book Donations
- We welcome donations of gently used books, audio cassettes, CDs, videocassettes and DVDs. Please check our Donation Guidelines before bringing donations to the library.
Life of a Donated Book
- Library staff sorts through donations and selects items for the library shelves. In 2010 over 12,000 donated items were added to the library collection system wide!
- Items not needed by the library are sent to the Friends who sell the newest and best of the donations at their Honor Book Sale in the library lobby. Some valuable or interesting books are sold by the Friends online.
- The remaining donations are sold by the Friends at their monthly book sales.
- Proceeds from all Friends' book sales are donated to the library to purchase new books for the library shelves. Thank you for your books!
- El Dorado County Library Volunteer Handbook
- Volunteers are a valued addition to the library's professional staff. They shelve, mend, process new books, raise funds and support our libraries. Become a volunteer! Fill out the Volunteer Application or the Teen Volunteer Application print it and bring it to the library and our Volunteer Coordinator will give you a call.
- Make a Donation
- You can support your library by making a donation through PayPal. It's as easy as 1… 2… 3…!
- Adopt-a-Book
- Give a gift to the library in honor or in memory of a loved one. Complete this form and send it to the library with your check payable to the El Dorado County Library.
- Programs & Events
- Support your library by coming to our Programs and Events. Many are sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
